I got my first Mac on April of 2004. It was an 12″ iBook G4 display unit and it was supposed to be just a portable unit in cases where I would need one. It wasn’t meant to be used as my main computer. But the iBook slowly grew on me. I started really liking it. So much so that I ended up selling my Windows desktop PC a few months later.
From that point forward, there was no looking back. I was officially a Mac.
I replaced my iBook with a 12″ Powerbook G4 then got an iPod mini. Then an iPod shuffle. A 5G iPod. An iMac. iPod nano. Another iPod nano. And last but not the least, a 2G iPod touch. By the way, I sold my old iPods before I got a new one, except for the two iPod nanos. The 2G nano is with my niece and the 3G nano is with a friend.
I started my blog around the same time I got my iBook. I think one of my first posts were about the iBook G4. I blogged in fits and starts. Stopped in 2007 and came back by the middle of 2009. I’m really rough around the edges, so I do appreciate that you’ve taken the time to read my posts.
My goal for Davao Mac User is to report (or as I call it, regurgitate) news, updates, and tips for Mac, iPod and iPhone users in Davao City. I will try my best to provide original content but most of the stuff I’ll be posting are from other Mac, iPod or iPhone related blogs or websites. I always give proper attribution to my sources. If I didn’t, drop me a line.
There are a few things that I won’t blog about:
- Rumors about any purported products or services from some analyst or some “reputable source”; except for the really juicy ones.
- No gloat stories. By that I mean the kind of stories or reports that says this company such and such had a much lower revenue this quarter or device P or Z lost market share during a time period. These kinds of things tend to bite you back in the heinie.
- Nothing about a person’s private life or anything I feel violates somebody’s right to privacy. For example, about Steve Jobs and his health.
There might be some exceptions but it’s going to be few and far between.
I do hope you’ll enjoy my blog and my little contribution to Apple fanboy-ism.
Please leave comments and suggestions. I would highly appreciate it.
