The entry level iMac sports a 21.5-inch glossy LED-backlit display with a 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 500GB of storage (7200 rpm). 4GB (two 2GB modules) DDR3 RAM comes as standard, upgradable up to 16GB. It also comes with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M with 256MB of shared DDR3 memory.

A second 21.5-inch model has the same dual-core processor and 4GB standard RAM but has twice the hard drive space and has the ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics chipset with 256MB of GDDR3 memory.

Next in line is the 27-inch iMac featuring the same 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo processor with the 21.5-inch models, 4GB (two 2GB modules) 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM, 1TB of storage, and ATI Radeon HD 4670 with 256MB of GDDR3 memory. The option is available to upgrade the graphics to the ATI Radeon HD 4850 with 512MB of GDDR3 memory.

Last but definitely not the least, is the grand daddy of the iMac family: the 27-inch LED-backlit display with 2.66 GHz Intel Core i5 quad-core processor with 8MB shared L3 cache. There is a build-to-order option to upgrade to 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 quad-core processor. Other specs include: ATI Radeon HD 4850 with 512MB of GDDR3 memory, 4GB of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM, and 1TB storage.

All iMacs except for the entry level 21.5-inch has the option of maxing the storage up to 2TB. 27-inch iMacs can be mounted via VESA Mount Adapter.

The LED-backlit displays has a 16:9 aspect ratio, ideal for watching high definition video and for editing videos or photos. The new 21.5-inch iMac has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The 27-inch iMac has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The 27-inch display offers 60 percent more pixels than the previous 24-inch model. Both 21.5 and 27-inch displays use IPS technology to deliver consistent color across an ultra wide 178 degree viewing angle. The two 27-inch iMacs supports input from external DisplayPort sources.

One new additional feature is the SD card slot located just below the SuperDrive slot. Certainly a boon to photographers everywhere.

Ports at the back include: 4 USB, one FireWire 800, one Mini DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet, combined optical digital audio output/headphone out, and combined optical digital audio input/audio line in. Wireless features include AirPort Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi networking and Bluetooth 2.1 + Enhanced Data Rate (EDR). Every new iMac also has the built-in iSight camera, mic and speaker.

The new iMacs come with the new Multi-Touch-based Magic Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard which, according to TUAW, now only requires two AA batteries instead of three. Every Mac purchased comes with Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system and iLife.

The 21.5-inch iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with a 500GB hard drive costs ₱65,990 while the 21.5-inch iMac with the same 3.06GHz processor but with 1TB of storage and ATI Radeon HD 4670 as graphics processor costs ₱81,990. The 27-inch iMac with 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo costs ₱92,990, while the quad-core 27-inch 2.66GHz Intel Core i5-based iMac is priced at ₱108,900.

All new iMacs are now available at the Apple Online Store Philippines and are expected to ship in November.
