Apple in a press release announced the availability of the iPad in 18 more countries by July this year. All of the iPad models will be available starting May 28 in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Customers in these nine countries can start pre-ordering today. Nine more countries, Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore, should have the iPad by July. Pricing and pre-order dates will be announced later.

Wi-Fi-only (16GB, 32GB, 64GB)

  • Japan: ¥48,800, ¥58,800, ¥68,800
  • Australia: $629, $759, $879
  • Canada: $549, $649, $749
  • Europe: €479, €579, £599
  • U.K.: £429, £499, €679

Wi-Fi + 3G iPad (16GB, 32GB, 64GB)

  • Japan: ¥61,800, ¥71,800, ¥81,800
  • Australia: $799, $928, $1,049
  • Canada: $679, $779, $879
  • Europe: €579, €679, €779
  • U.K.: £529, £599, £699

In the US, Apple has already sold over one million iPads and customers have downloaded over 12 million apps from the App Store, as well as over 1.5 million ebooks from the new iBookstore. (Apple press release)
