An Apple Store mistake could provide more evidence to an earlier than expected release of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Macworld reported the error involved the listing of the new Mac Box Set with Snow Leopard as being ready for shipping in 24 hours. However, the item was pulled almost immediately after a call was placed to inquire about the listing. Though the new Mac OS is officially scheduled to be released next month, rumors of an August 28 release date are getting louder.
On another Apple Store story, Apple once again is offering the matte screen option for the 15-inch MacBook Pro, according to AppleInsider. The $50 antiglare option is targeted at professional video and image editors who have been complaining that the glossy screens complicates color matching. Another group of users who will appreciate the return of the matte screen option are those who often find themselves using their MacBook Pros outdoors or those who simply can’t stand the glare from the glossy screen. The matte screen option used to be available only for the 17-inch MacBook Pro.
