Apple today quietly updated its most affordable Mac portable. The update brings the white MacBook at par with the low-end 13.3″ MacBook Pro in terms of processor, hard drive space, graphics processor, and battery life.
The current MacBook specs read:
- 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- 2GB DDR3 memory
- 250GB hard drive
- 8x double-layer SuperDrive
- NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics
- Built-in 10-hour battery
The previous generation MacBook came with 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 160GB hard drive, and Nvidia GeForce 9400M using 256 MB RAM.
Still missing are FireWire 800, built-in SD card reader, and the illuminated keyboard. The MacBook also weighs 90 grams heavier as compared to the 13-inch MacBook Pro.
The new MacBook costs ₱51,990 at the online Apple Store Philippines, ₱48,990 if with educational discount. Over at Apple Store Hong Kong though the new MacBook only costs HK$7,588 or ₱44,050 but if you can get one under the Education Store it will only cost you HK$7,188 or ₱41,750.
