So we got new MacBooks, new iMacs, a faster Mac mini, and an awesome mouse the works like magic! That’s it, right? Apple is done with releasing or announcing new or improved products, right?

Not quite.

Some of Apple’s lesser known products also had a makeover or an upgrade at least.

Like the new Apple Remote. Gone is the white plastic body. Enter aluminum-clad Apple Remote goodness.

Aside from the new aluminum body, the other thing to notice with the new remote is the relocation of the play button from the middle of the directional buttons to beside the menu button. The directional buttons now look like the controls from the iPod nano.

The Apple Remote can be used with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infra-red receiver. On Macs, the menu button is used to bring up Front Row, allowing users to control playback of photos, music, videos, DVDs, and podcasts. iPods and iPhones can also be controlled by using the Apple Remote as long as the iPod or iPhone is docked into the iPod Universal Dock.

Then there’s the Airport Extreme and Time Capsule antenna update, giving both devices 50% better performance and 25% more range, as reported by AppleInsider.

TUAW added a few more updated Apple products to the list, such as the the Apple Wireless Keyboard, now requiring two AA batteries instead of three. There’s also the 60W MagSafe Power Adapter featuring an aluminum connector, just like the one found in the 45W MagSafe Power Adapter for the MacBook Air. Last but not the least, is the VESA Mount Adapter Kit for the 24-inch iMac and LED Cinema Display, which now works with the new 27-inch iMac.

Oh, the wired Mighty Mouse is no more since Apple lost the right to use the moniker to Man and Machine. Instead, there’s the wired Apple Mouse. Same old mouse, brand spanking new name.
