More than two weeks ago, I once again visited Globe Business Center at SM Davao to ask regarding the status of my iPhone 3GS reservation. I didn’t get the reply I was hoping for. After he chanted his “You know, sir, there’s a worldwide shortage of blah blah blah…”, I interjected to ask if he had any information with regard to when Davao will have its supply of iPhone 3GS. His reply? “We’re not sure Davao will get it this month.”

Sigh.

Then he said,”But don’t worry, sir, there are only a few of you who reserved the iPhone 3GS.” Implying perhaps that once Davao gets its stock of iPhone 3GS everyone will come out happy. If what he said was meant to cheer me up, really didn’t work.

After thinking about it for a week, I finally traipsed to Globe yesterday and canceled my iphone 3GS reservation. My technolust has waned and I’m no longer interested in a device that’s going to be called the ‘previous generation’ ten months from now. I just hope that next generation iPhone will have 5 megapixel camera and HD video-capable.

It’s not Globe Telecom’s fault nor is it Apple’s. Apple already warned that there’s a high demand for the iPhone 3GS and some countries are going to experience delays in the launch of the iPhone 3GS.

What’s an Apple geek to do until July 2010? There is that 13-inch MacBook Pro still stuck in limbo and the week of September 7 is only three weeks away. Rumor has it that there will be new iPods. With camera.

Glee.
