I mentioned that Duke University gave its class of 2008 iPods to be used in the classroom and in campus. But The Chronicle Online wasn’t all that impressed.

In the staff editorial Continuing iPods a mistake, The Chronicle Online said that Duke University’s iPod program “has clearly shown the limited academic use of the expensive devices” and calls it as “nothing more than a marketing scheme.” They further add that the iPods “failed to fulfill the lofty academic goals the administration had set.”
