Apple’s latest operating system, Mac OS X 10.6 code named “Snow Leopard”, is now available for pre-order at the online Apple Store Philippines and is estimated to ship on August 28.

The price for a single-user license is P1,690 and for a five license Family Pack, it’s P2,790. Both will be shipped for free. Normally, a minimum purchase of P3,000 is required before a customer can avail of free shipping.
Snow Leopard requires an Intel Mac (end of the road for PowerPC Mac users) with at least 1GB of RAM, 5GB of hard disk space, and a DVD drive for installation.
To some degree, the August 28 date doesn’t come as a surprise in light of the bungle, flub and rumor. There was even a leak about the new packaging.

And to think, I just bought a MacBook Pro. Flargh.
My guess for the price of a single-user license was correct but I missed the price for the Family Pack by P80.
