Snow Leopard

Snow Leopard has taken the top two spots in Amazon’s “Bestsellers in Software” list less than a week after Mac OS X 10.6′s pre-order status was announced.

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard which retails for $29 is on the number one slot for five days now. Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Family Pack ranks second. The Family Pack is a 5-user license for Snow Leopard and sells for $49.

It was back in June, during the Worldwide Developer Conference 2009 Keynote, that Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, Bertrand Serlet, announced the incredibly low-priced Snow Leopard upgrade, since according to Serlet, “We want all Leopard users to upgrade to Snow Leopard because Snow Leopard is a better Leopard.”

Customers who bought their Macs on or after June 8, 2009 are eligible for the Snow Leopard Up-to-Date Program, which lets users upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6 for only P590 ($9.95 in the US).
