I like squid. Not the teeny tiny ones but the bigger kind. Sometimes I would crave for ika sushi or ika sashimi and head to Tsuru. But every now and then I hunger for calamares and there’s only one place in town that serves them real good: Kanto Bar. It’s not every time that their calamares is good. Sometimes the portions are less than usual. Sometimes the taste just isn’t right. But generally I enjoy their calamares. No one else in Davao prepares it like they do. The calamares has a side dish of deep fried thinly sliced sweet potato which is as good as the main dish itself. I think I should mosey down to Kanto this weekend.

I’m hoping one day that I’ll be able to make my own calamares and I’m always on the look out for good recipes. I stumbled upon one in Market Manila and I might perhaps prepare calamares using this recipe one day.
