Adobe has released updated Mac, Windows and Linux distributions of Flash Player, bringing old and new editions of the software up to v9.0.246.0 and v10.0.32.18, respectively… Some 12 Flash vulnerabilities are said to have been closed in Adobe software, 10 of which could be used to assume full or partial control of a computer.

Hackers have reportedly been using some of the vulnerabilities to target website visitors, exploiting the existence of Reader’s Flash interpreter.

Adobe Systems has updated Acrobat and Reader to version 9.1.3. Both updates are available through the Adobe Updater application or for download through Adobe’s Web site.

The 9.1.3 versions of Acrobat and Reader both address “critical security vulnerabilities while providing more stability,” according to Adobe.

The only time I had Adobe Reader installed was during the first three months after switching to the Mac. Preview works just fine for me.
