macsaleMac software bundles are, in my opinion, a great way for developers to get eyeballs, and at the same time help discourage piracy.

TUAW reports on the latest Mac software bundle, The Mac Sale, which offers ten different Mac apps worth $450 for only $49. The apps included are:

  • Flux ($65) – web design tool
  • Scribbles ($19.95) – drawing tool
  • Interarchy ($59) – advanced file transfer
  • Iris ($79) – photo editor
  • WriteRoom ($24.95)- distraction free writing
  • REALbasic ($99) – cross-platform development tool
  • HoudahSpot ($25) – more functional Spotlight
  • Stuf ($21) – clipboard manager
  • TaskPaper ($29) -simple yet adept to-do list
  • MarinerCalc ($49.95) – spreadsheet application

This is actually a very good bundle. You have your productivity apps (WriteRoom, MarinerCalc, and TaskPaper), creativity apps (Flux, Scribbles, Iris, and REALBasic), and system tools (Interarchy, HoudahSpot, and Stuf). Very tempting, I must say. What’s missing is a presentation software to complement WriteRoom and MarinerCalc and you have you office suite right there. Still, I think this is a very good buy.

$450 worth of applications only for $49. Plus, use the coupon code TUAW and get a 5% discount. Big thanks to TUAW!

This bundle is available only until August 18, 2009.
